A VERY FUNNY AND TRUE READ!! ENJOY

Test 1: Preparation
Women: To prepare for pregnancy
1. Put on a dressing gown and stick a beanbag down the front.
2. Leave it there.
3. After nine months, remove 5 per cent of the beans.

Men: To prepare for children
1. Go to a local chemist, tip the contents of your wallet onto the counter and tell the pharmacist to help himself.
2. Go to the supermarket. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home. Pick up the newspaper and read it for the last time.

Test 2: Knowledge
Find a couple who are already parents and berate them about their methods of discipline, lack of patience, appallingly low tolerance levels and how they have allowed their children to run wild. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's sleeping habits, toilet training, table manners and overall behaviour. Enjoy it; this will be the last time in your life that you will have all the answers.

Test 3: Nights
1. Walk around the living room from 5pm to 10pm carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 4-6kg, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly.
2. At 10pm, put the bag down, set the alarm for midnight and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 11pm and walk the bag around the living room until 1am.4. Set the alarm for 3am.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2am and make a cup of tea.
6. Go to bed at 2.45am.
7. Get up again at 3am when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs in the dark until 4am.
9. Put the alarm on for 5am. Get up when it goes off.
10. Make breakfast.
*Keep this up for 5 years. LOOK CHEERFUL.

Test 4: Dressing small children
1. Buy a live octopus and a string bag.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the string bag so that no arms hangout.
*Time Allowed: 5 minutes

Test 5: Cars
1. Forget the BMW; buy a practical 5-door wagon.
2. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.
3. Get a coin. Insert it into the CD player.
4. Take a box of chocolate biscuits; mash them into the back seat.
5. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Test 6: Going for a walk
1. Wait.
2. Go out the front door.
3. Come back in again.
4. Go out.
5. Come back in again.
6. Go out again.
7. Walk down the front path.
8. Walk back up it.
9. Walk down it again.
10. Walk very slowly down the road for five minutes.
11. Stop, inspect minutely and ask at least six questions about every piece of used chewing gum, dirty tissue and dead insect along the way.
12. Retrace your steps.
13. Scream that you have had as much as you can stand until the neighbours come out and stare at you.
14. Give up and go back into the house.
*You are now just about ready to try taking a small child for a walk.

Test 7: Conversations with children
Repeat everything you say at least 5 times.

Test 8: Grocery shopping
1. Go to the local supermarket. Take with you the nearest thing you can find to a preschool child - a fully grown goat is excellent. If you intend to have more than one child, take more than one goat.
2. Buy your weekly groceries without letting the goat(s) out of your sight.
3. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys.
*Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Test 9: Feeding a 1-year-old
1. Hollow out a melon
2. Make a small hole in the side
3. Suspend the melon from the ceiling and swing it side to side
4. Now get a bowl of soggy cornflakes and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon while pretending to be an aeroplane.
5. Continue until half the cornflakes are gone.
6. Tip the rest into your lap, making sure that a lot of it falls on the floor.

Test 10: Entertainment
1. Learn the names of every character from the Wiggles, Barney, Teletubbies and Disney.
2. Watch nothing else on television for at least 5 years.

Test 11: Mess
Can you stand the mess children make? To find out:
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a fish behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flowerbeds and then rub them on clean walls. Cover the stains with crayon. How does that look?
4. Empty every drawer/cupboard/storage box in your house onto the floor and proceed with step 5.
5. Drag random items from one room to another room and leave them there.

Test 12: Long trips with toddlers
1. Make a recording of someone shouting 'Mummy' repeatedly. Important notes: no more than a 4-second delay between each 'Mummy'. Include occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet.
2. Play this tape in your car, everywhere you go for the next 4 years.
*You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Test 13: Conversations
1. Start talking to an adult of your choice.
2. Have someone else continually tug on your shirt hem or shirt sleeve while playing the 'Mummy tape' listed above.
*You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

Test 14: Getting ready for work
1. Pick a day on which you have an important meeting.
2. Put on your finest work attire.
3. Take a cup of cream and put one cup of lemon juice in it.
4. Stir.
5. Dump half of it on your nice silk shirt.
6. Saturate a towel with the other half of the mixture.
7. Attempt to clean your shirt with the same saturated towel.
8. Do not change (you have no time).
9. Go directly to work.

You are now ready to have children. ENJOY!

We have asked these mums to come back here and post what they thought about these nappies and whether it was worth the trip out to Costco to stock up on these nappies.

A box will cost you $51.99 for 168 (of the larger nappies step 5 and step 6), There are a little over 200 nappies in the smaller sizes for the same price.

According to our Facebook conversation of these nappies, many moms thought that these nappies were on par with Huggies - if that is indeed the case then a trip out to your local Costco to stock up is definitely worth your while. The earlier you teach your child how to use chopsticks, the easier it will be for them to master the art in no time.

If you anything like me who only learned how to use chopsticks at the age of 24... eating out at Chinese restaurants is still challenging!

Here are the simple steps to follow when teaching your kids:

Step 1:
Get yourself a pair of kid's training chopsticks. You can find yourself a set right here on Bargain Babee this week.

Step 2:
Prepare some food such as apple chunks, cubed cheese or marshmallows - these are easy to pick up and more likely to show quicker success. Try avoid small slippery foods to begin with.

Step 3:
Give your child the chopsticks and let them grip them with their fist - just as they would with a fork or spoon.

Step 5:
Show the proper technique by having them rest one chopstick in the V-shaped of their thumb and forefinger. They will then support that chopstick with their little finger and ring finger. It is important to demonstrate for your child a few times before they get the hang of it.

Step 6:
Next, instruct them to hold the other chopstick like a pencil. This is between the middle finger and index finger. Now have them hold the bottom stick still and move the top stick to pick up the food. You can liken the motion to a bird picking its food up with its beak

Lastly, practice practice and more practice. In no time they will be taken on rice like a pro!

Step 2:

Baby Vaseline

Good old petroleum jelly can also be used to remove:

lipstick stains - rub a dab of Vaseline onto the lipstick stain, then launder as usual

scuff marks from floor - rub a dab of Vaseline on scuff marks on vinyl or tile floors and buff with soft cloth

water rings - cover water ring with a thick coat of Vaseline and let sit for 24 hours. With a clean, soft cloth, rub the petroleum jelly into the wood, wipe away the excess, and polish the furniture as usual.

Stuck ring on finger....but we all know this one!

Vaseline can also be used to prevent:

blisters from shoes - rub Vaseline into the leather of new shoes before wearing. This will reduce friction

faucet screeching - coat the threads on the handle and stem

glue cap getting stuck -coat the tip with a dab of Vaseline before sealing the cap securely closed

ants invading your pets bowl - rub a small dab around the bottom rim of your pets bowl

rust - applying Vaseline to screws and tools regularly will prevent them from rusting

Baby Powder

Baby Powder has many uses around the home including

Cleaning grease from clothes - sprinkle powder on grease stain, rub into garment and launder as usual

Hiding stains on white suit - to hide a minor stain, rub powder into the stain

Preventing white shirts from absorbing oil and grime - sprinkle baby powder on shirts before and after ironing

Stop squeaking floorboards - Sprinkle baby powder into the crevices of the floorboard, along the edges. The baby powder lubricates the joints, alleviating the friction.

untangling necklaces - place necklace on piece of wax paper and dust with baby powder and slowly undo the knots. Baby powder lubricates the metal, helping knots slip apart.

Removing beach sand - sprinkle baby powder on your legs and feet when leaving the beach to make brushing sand off easy as!

Baby Oil

I know in the 80's I used Baby Oil as sun tan lotion.......here are a few less dangerous uses for Baby Oil:

Cleaning
shower - put a few drops of baby oil on a clean cloth and use it to wipe soap scum from shower doors. To prevent water spots and soap scum on shower walls and doors, wipe the walls and doors with a few drops of baby oil on a damp cloth once a week. [ do not use on floor.....]
stainless steel sinks - Clean with a few drops of baby oil around the sink and dry off with a paper towel, and polish with a few more drops of baby oil
water rings - Gently rubbing baby oil into the wood may remove stubborn spots and white rings from furniture

Prying apart glassware -dribble baby oil between the stuck glassware, let is seep in, and gently tug the glasses apart

Rejuvenating
Dashboard - put a few drops of baby oil onto a rag, and rub into the dashboard, then buff dry with a soft cloth. The oil revitalizes the colour and the sheen lasts for weeks.
Rubber Car Bumper - apply a few drops of baby oil to a rag and rub into bumper. The baby oil restores the discoloured bumper, revitalizes the black colouring and as a bonus helps prevent insects sticking to it - phew!
Your own skin! - Pop a few (and i mean a few as in 3) drops in the bath to leave your skin feeling baby soft

Baby Shampoo

Laundry Detergent - if you all out of laundry detergent - put a cap full of baby shampoo in your regular wash cycle

Pet Shampoo - get your pet smelling fresh and you don't have to worry about hurting their eyes!

Write a Day Plan
Tick off the jobs as you do them. This will help you chart your progress and realize exactly what needs finishing in the time available.

Take a Break
No matter how busy you are, walk for at least 10 minutes every lunchtime. This helps clear your mind, think about the afternoon, plan your work and relax. If there's a temptation to work through lunch, don't - it makes you stale and unproductive.

Don't be scared to speak up
If you do have problems with your workload, don't be afraid of raising it with your manager. Do this in a constructive way, offering solutions where you can.

Be email savvy
Check your emails once every 30 minutes, rather than dropping what you're doing to read everyone as it lands in your inbox. This will help you to focus and feel in control of your work, rather than being at the mercy of constant messages.

Refuel
Ensure you have a drawer full of healthy snacks. And drink plenty of water. This will keep you alert and performing at your best.

Be Kind to yourself
Juggling motherhood and working is a challenge. It's easy to feel guilty because you can't do everything all the time. Lose the guilt and don't beat yourself up. Think positively about all you are achieving, rather than worrying about what you're not achieving.

And relax
With the popularity of the iPhone and Blackberry, it's hard to switch off when you've finished for the day, so disable work email alerts when you leave the office. You need to rest and you'll work better refreshed.
